LAS VEGAS, NV — (September 18, 2026) — Troye Sivan has traded the modern nightclub for a medieval castle in the extravagant official music video for “Party,” the second single from his forthcoming fourth studio album, She’s the Best.




Released this week, “Party” pairs Sivan’s hypnotic dance-pop sound with a lavish period-piece visual directed by longtime collaborator Gordon von Steiner, transforming a castle in Berkeley, England, into an uninhibited celebration of dancing, freedom and queer nightlife.

And Sivan brought some serious cultural firepower along for the ride.

“Party” Samples Madonna’s “Music”

“Party” prominently samples Madonna’s 2000 smash “Music,” weaving one of the Queen of Pop’s best-known dance-floor hooks into Sivan’s repetitive, club-driven production.

Sivan said the repetition was deliberate. He explained that dance music takes on a different character when experienced on a dance floor, where repetition can become almost hypnotic.

The concept carries directly into the video.

Rather than recreate contemporary nightlife, Sivan and von Steiner asked a much bigger question: If partying is fundamental to human culture, what might queer celebration have looked like hundreds of years ago?

The answer is an increasingly chaotic medieval celebration filled with elaborate costumes, dancing, feasting and choreography.




Sivan said he and von Steiner kept returning to the idea of partying as something almost sacred, particularly for queer people, because nightlife can provide one of the first spaces where an LGBTQ person finds themselves surrounded by people like them.

Sir Ian McKellen Opens the Medieval Spectacle

Even better, Sir Ian McKellen provides the video’s opening narration.

There’s history behind that collaboration.

McKellen and Sivan worked together when a teenage Sivan appeared in a 2010 production of Waiting for Godot. Sivan has described seeing an openly gay, successful and proud McKellen during that period as personally significant while Sivan himself was approaching the point of coming out to his mother.




Bringing McKellen into “Party” decades later therefore becomes more than celebrity casting—it connects two generations of prominent gay performers.
