LAS VEGAS, NV — (August 31, 2026) — Queer alternative-rock artist Aidan Rhys turns heartbreak, desire and a toxic relationship into a gritty visual statement with his official music video for “American Spirits.”
Released August 7, 2026, “American Spirits” finds Rhys — the music moniker of actor and artist Aidan Rhys Langford — leaning into an alternative and indie-rock sound while exploring the emotional wreckage left behind by a volatile relationship.

Rhys has publicly identified as a queer artist and has incorporated that identity into his public profile and creative work, making “American Spirits” another distinctive entry in his expanding catalog.
Aidan Rhys Turns Heartbreak Into ‘American Spirits’
Written and composed by Rhys, “American Spirits” revolves around attraction complicated by emotional damage, physical intimacy and the push-and-pull dynamics of a relationship that refuses to disappear quietly.
The song’s central “American Spirits” metaphor gives the track an immediately memorable identity, tying desire and emotional dependency to something simultaneously alluring and destructive.
Rather than polishing away those rough edges, Rhys embraces them.
The result lands firmly in alternative and indie-rock territory, pairing personal lyricism with an intentionally raw presentation that gives “American Spirits” considerably more bite than a conventional breakup track.
Super 8 Film Gives ‘American Spirits’ Its Vintage Edge
That attitude carries directly into the official music video.
Filmed using Super 8, with the film developed and scanned by Pro8mm, the visual trades pristine digital perfection for grain, texture and an unmistakably vintage aesthetic.
The approach works particularly well with the track’s restless energy. Instead of feeling like a glossy promotional clip, “American Spirits” plays more like fragments of memory captured on film — messy, intimate and deliberately imperfect.
The video is a Two Seas Media Production, directed by Dylan Michaels and Patrick Broderick.
Michaels also handled creative direction and cinematography, with Broderick serving as producer. Editing was completed by Hao Jer Chang and Dylan Michaels, while Texas Tanner Blake and LA Adrián Jose Ramos Dias served as styling assistants.
Featured models include Aestheadache, Phillip Zelanick, Edgar Sanchez, Scot Wade Cain, Brady Austin Rider and Aaron Tyler.
On the music side, Rhys wrote and composed “American Spirits,” with Gabe Lopez serving as music producer.
