LONDON, UK — (October 9, 2026) — Emerging gay alt-pop artist Stan Pratt is turning one of queer romance’s most painful experiences into music with “Girl,” a new single and official music video exploring the heartbreak of falling for a man whose romantic attention belongs to a woman.
The London-based singer, songwriter and producer released the track during the first week of October, followed by its official music video on October 6. The song combines emotional vulnerability with Pratt’s theatrical pop sensibility, presenting unrequited love through a distinctly queer perspective.

Stan Pratt Gives Queer Heartbreak a Voice.
At the center of “Girl” is an emotionally complicated situation: loving someone who cannot return those feelings in the way you hope.
Rather than framing heartbreak as a conventional breakup, Pratt explores the frustration, longing and emotional isolation that can emerge when a gay man develops feelings for someone pursuing a woman.
The concept fits the artist’s broader creative identity. Pratt describes his musical approach through maximalist, camp-influenced pop, while his background in neuroscience informs an interest in psychology, human behavior and complicated emotional relationships.
Filming “Girl” Came With an Unexpected Challenge
Behind the music video’s polished presentation was a difficult production experience.
According to details Pratt shared on social media, he had sprained his ankle just five days before filming. Nevertheless, he completed the shoot, including physically demanding spinning sequences.
The production brought together a London-based creative team led by director Lucas Quinn, with cinematography by Moses Fiddian Green.
Brandon St Catherine served as assistant director and gaffer, while Amelie Frances handled art direction.
The result adds a visual dimension to a song built around vulnerability, longing and the contradictions of romantic desire.
The official music video premiered October 6, 2026, following the single’s release-week launch and live celebration.
