The Kid LAROI is giving a lost love song a second life.

LAS VEGAS, NV — (August 28, 2026)  — The Australian hitmaker officially dropped his highly anticipated new single “SLEEP” and its accompanying music video on Friday, August 28, 2026, delivering a standalone release with an unusual backstory.

Rather than being created specifically for his current era, “SLEEP” survived an entire album that LAROI ultimately decided to leave behind.

The Kid LAROI Rescues “SLEEP” From a Scrapped Album

About a year ago, The Kid LAROI revealed that he scrapped an unreleased project titled Love Like Mine, also referred to as Watch This!, after deciding the material wasn’t clicking together as the cohesive album he wanted.

LAROI moved forward creatively and eventually released Before I Forget in January 2026.

But after recently revisiting material from those abandoned sessions, one track apparently proved too special to remain locked away: “SLEEP.”

Instead of leaving the song in the vault, LAROI resurrected the emotional track as a standalone release for fans.

“SLEEP” Video Ushers In a Sharper LAROI Era

The official “SLEEP” music video, directed and edited by Ayodeji, also arrives as The Kid LAROI continues evolving his visual identity during his 2026 era and A Perfect World global tour.

The loose teenage skater aesthetic associated with his early career has increasingly given way to a much more refined presentation.

“SLEEP” continues that evolution with sharper grooming, carefully styled menswear and sleek designer streetwear. Crisp whites and minimalist imagery help give the visual a polished aesthetic while angel and dove-inspired elements reinforce its dreamy atmosphere.

It’s a decidedly more grown-up Kid LAROI—and one that appears increasingly comfortable allowing fashion and visual direction to become part of the storytelling surrounding his music.

The “SLEEP” official video premiered August 28 at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET.
