Whalefall is a survival thriller from director Brian Duffield starring Austin Abrams, Josh Brolin and Elisabeth Shue. Based on the novel by Daniel Kraus, the film follows Jay Gardiner as a dive off California’s Central Coast takes a terrifying turn when he is swallowed by a massive sperm whale and left with approximately one hour of oxygen to find a way out.
Distributed by 20th Century Studios and scheduled for U.S. theatrical release on October 16, 2026, Whalefall transforms Kraus’ high-concept survival story into a big-screen thriller.
