The Russian LGBT Network was one of Russia’s most prominent LGBTQ rights organizations, providing support and advocacy for LGBTQ people across the country.
Founded in 2006, the network became internationally recognized for documenting discrimination and assisting LGBTQ people facing persecution, including individuals endangered in Chechnya.
After Russian authorities designated the organization extremist in 2026, the network announced that it would end its public operations, citing increased risks to the people it sought to support.
