LAS VEGAS, NV — (August 21, 2026) — Tinashe is back in full visual-performance mode with the official music video for “Melatonin,” delivering a stylish collision of high-energy choreography, fashion and hypnotic imagery ahead of her upcoming album POPSTAR.
Released August 13, the dance-driven single offers another taste of POPSTAR, which is scheduled to arrive September 25, 2026.
And despite a title inspired by the hormone most commonly associated with sleep, Tinashe’s “Melatonin” visual is anything but sleepy.

Tinashe Turns “Melatonin” Into a Visual Dance Showcase
Directed by 91 Rules with Tinashe serving as creative director, “Melatonin” unfolds inside an opulent setting filled with towering chandeliers, ornate interiors and shifting cinematic lighting.
The lavish backdrop becomes Tinashe’s playground.
Throughout the video, she moves between dramatically different fashion looks and performance sequences while dancers transform the elegant surroundings into an unconventional dance floor.
One moment finds Tinashe commanding the camera beneath an oversized black statement hat and sleek black ensemble. Another shifts into an icy blue fashion look beneath a massive chandelier before the visual expands into energetic group choreography.
Later scenes introduce a softer pink look against a dramatically darker blue-toned setting, giving the video a dreamlike quality that plays perfectly against the “Melatonin” title.
Rather than building the visual around a traditional narrative, Tinashe and 91 Rules allow movement, fashion and atmosphere to drive the experience.
The result feels part music video, part fashion editorial and part choreographed fever dream.
“Melatonin” Turns Up the Energy Ahead of POPSTAR
The song itself leans heavily into electronic and dance production, giving Tinashe plenty of room to showcase one of the qualities that has long distinguished her as a performer: her ability to make choreography an integral part of the music rather than an afterthought.
“Melatonin” also arrives as Tinashe continues building momentum toward the next phase of her career.
Her forthcoming POPSTAR album arrives September 25, 2026, making the new visual another major piece of the project’s rollout.
For longtime followers who remember the singer’s earlier eras and newer listeners introduced to Tinashe through her recent resurgence, “Melatonin” demonstrates just how strongly she continues to merge pop, dance, fashion and visual experimentation into her own lane.
And judging from this video, the POPSTAR era intends to live up to its name.
