Film Plot

In The Cure, teenager Ally Braun, played by Cochran, suffers from a mysterious illness that leaves doctors baffled and her life hanging in the balance. But as Ally begins experiencing disturbing visions and uncovering hidden truths about her wealthy adoptive family, she realizes her condition may not be what it seems.

Her billionaire parents — portrayed by Dastmalchian and Greene — appear determined to find a cure at any cost. However, Ally soon suspects their medical ambitions involve dangerous experiments connected to her own blood and a remote island compound where secrets run deep.

As the story unfolds, Ally must fight to escape both the mysterious illness and the disturbing scientific experiments tied to her family’s biotech empire before she loses everything that makes her human.

The film also stars Tyler Lawrence Gray, Sydney Taylor, Dylan Flashner, and Alex Veadov, rounding out the ensemble cast behind the eerie psychological thriller.

Written by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer — the screenwriting duo behind Steven Soderbergh’s psychological thriller Unsane — the film explores the intersection of biotechnology, power, and family loyalty through a dark sci-fi horror lens.

Director Leopardi has described the project as a satirical thriller examining the modern billionaire class, blending unsettling social commentary with traditional suspense elements.

The newly released trailer showcases the film’s unsettling atmosphere, hinting at disturbing medical experiments and psychological manipulation as Ally races to uncover the truth about her adoptive parents’ intentions.

The Cure is scheduled to hit North American theaters and digital platforms beginning April 13, 2026, positioning it as one of the spring’s most intriguing entries in the psychological horror genre.
