GENEVA, SWITZERLAND — (October 21, 2026) — Adult pleasure products manufacturer Sportsheets has secured a significant brand protection victory after the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) ordered the transfer of a lookalike website domain accused of impersonating the established industry brand.
The ruling, issued October 14, 2026, follows a complaint filed by Intora Inc., doing business as Sportsheets, against the registrant of Sportsheets.net, a domain that previously displayed branding and website elements resembling the manufacturer’s official online presence at Sportsheets.com.

The decision highlights the growing importance of trademark enforcement and digital brand protection for adult product manufacturers and their retail distribution networks.
Copycat Website Mimicked Sportsheets Branding
According to WIPO’s administrative decision, the disputed domain was registered on January 5, 2026, and subsequently displayed elements resembling Sportsheets’ official website.
The site incorporated the company’s trademark and registered logo, alongside familiar navigation headings and promotional language.
Sportsheets alleged that visitors selecting the site’s retail links were redirected to an unaffiliated Amazon storefront and other third-party product websites presented as authorized partners.
The manufacturer argued that these practices created confusion among potential customers while exploiting its established brand identity.
The disputed website’s original content was later removed and replaced with a parked domain page.
WIPO Finds Bad-Faith Domain Registration
Sportsheets filed its complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center on August 20, 2026.
The respondent, identified in the proceeding as Theresa W. Chavez, did not submit a response.
After reviewing the evidence, WIPO panelist Richard W. Page determined that Sportsheets had established all three requirements under the Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP):
• The disputed domain was identical or confusingly similar to a trademark in which Sportsheets held rights.
• The registrant lacked legitimate rights or interests in the domain.
• The domain had been registered and used in bad faith.
The panel concluded that the website was designed to attract internet users for commercial gain by creating confusion with the Sportsheets trademark.
WIPO consequently ordered Sportsheets.net transferred to Intora Inc.
Why the Sportsheets Decision Matters to Adult Retailers
For adult product manufacturers and wholesale distributors, the ruling illustrates how unauthorized websites can potentially interfere with established retail relationships and consumer confidence.
Lookalike domains may create uncertainty about whether shoppers are purchasing through legitimate manufacturers, approved distributors, or independent third-party sellers.
The Sportsheets dispute also demonstrates the importance of monitoring similar domain registrations, protecting registered trademarks, and identifying websites that reproduce official branding without authorization.
Importantly, WIPO’s decision concerns ownership of the disputed domain under the UDRP. It does not constitute a separate court judgment awarding trademark infringement damages.
For the adult pleasure products industry, the case serves as a reminder that protecting a brand extends beyond product packaging and retail merchandising to the digital storefronts consumers encounter online.
