DALLAS, TX — (August 21, 2026) — Federal authorities have released extensive new details surrounding the alleged sex trafficking and money laundering conspiracy operated through the Paris Adult Bookstore on Harry Hines Boulevard in Dallas, expanding on a federal prosecution first reported by JRL CHARTS earlier this month.

U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Texas Ryan Raybould announced that eight individuals were indicted July 22 for their alleged roles in the operation. Six defendants were arrested July 24 and remain in federal custody, according to authorities.

Investigators also recovered 21 firearms during the investigation.

Eight Defendants Face Federal Charges

All eight defendants are charged with conspiracy to commit sex trafficking, while various defendants face additional allegations including sex trafficking through force, fraud or coercion, trafficking of a minor, money laundering conspiracy and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Those indicted are Aaron Tyrone Betford, Montre Lamont Mason, Eileen Mason, Trelynn Love Mason, Larry Jones, Krishenda Doss, Reginald Rose and Antonio Dario Osorio-Avelar.

Several defendants could face sentences of up to life in federal prison if convicted.

“The eight individuals charged in this indictment preyed on their victims and sex trafficked several women and juveniles for their own financial gain under threat of violence, fraud and coercion,” Raybould said.

Prosecutors Detail Alleged Operation Inside Adult Store

According to the federal indictment, prosecutors allege the defendants participated in a years-long trafficking and money laundering conspiracy that used the sexually oriented retail business to conceal illegal activity.

The Paris Adult Bookstore operated a traditional retail section selling adult merchandise while also maintaining approximately 40 private arcade rooms where customers could pay to view adult entertainment.

Federal prosecutors allege those rooms were also rented on a short-term basis to commercial sex workers and customers.

Authorities claim women were required to pay cash fees to store personnel for access to the rooms and related supplies, with some returning several times during individual shifts.

The indictment further alleges that employees and other conspirators were aware of signs that some women were being subjected to violence and coercion by traffickers yet continued facilitating access to the property.

Money Laundering Allegations Added to Federal Case

Federal investigators also allege proceeds generated through the operation were used in financial transactions designed to conceal the source and ownership of the money and perpetuate the enterprise.

Prosecutors claim some proceeds were used to employ security personnel who controlled activity around the property, monitored interactions between customers and commercial sex workers and alerted conspirators to disturbances involving law enforcement.

Two alleged traffickers who were not store employees were also indicted. Federal prosecutors accuse them of causing women and minors to engage in commercial sex acts using rooms at the business.

Multi-Agency Investigation Targets Alleged Trafficking Network

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations, IRS Criminal Investigation and the Dallas Police Department through HSI’s North Texas Trafficking Task Force.

“This indictment represents a major step forward in dismantling an organization that, according to the allegations, profited from the exploitation of vulnerable people for years,” HSI Dallas Special Agent in Charge Travis Pickard said.

The federal case follows months of investigative activity surrounding the Harry Hines Boulevard property and provides considerably greater detail about the alleged operation than was publicly available when JRL CHARTS first reported the eight federal indictments on August 2.

Case Does Not Represent Legitimate Adult Retail Industry

The allegations against the Paris Adult Bookstore defendants remain an extraordinary criminal case and should not be confused with the operations of legitimate brick-and-mortar adult retailers.

Thousands of licensed specialty retailers nationwide operate legitimate businesses selling pleasure products, intimate wellness merchandise and related products while complying with federal, state and local regulations.

This prosecution centers on specific allegations that individuals used a retail establishment to facilitate and profit from an illegal trafficking enterprise.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Brandie Wade of the Violent Crimes Section and Myria Boehm of the Major Crimes Section.

An indictment contains allegations, not proof of guilt. All eight defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
