WASHINGTON, D.C. — (October 22, 2026) — A newly released documentary is bringing explosive allegations against the late Republican Senator Lindsey Graham into the national spotlight, with three men claiming they were paid for sexual encounters with the longtime South Carolina lawmaker.

The approximately 30-minute film, The CLOSETocracy, released through The Young Turks (TYT) and produced with Swamp Watch Studios, includes allegations from one man who says he was just 17 years old when he encountered Graham in July 2001.

The allegations were reported Thursday by The Young Turks. They have not been independently substantiated by JRL CHARTS.

Three Men Come Forward With Allegations Against Lindsey Graham

The documentary features interviews with three men identified as Kelvin, Cory and Jesse.

Kelvin alleges that Graham arranged to meet him at a property associated with the late Republican Senator John McCain in Sedona, Arizona, in July 2001.

According to Kelvin, Graham became suspicious of his age during the encounter, repeatedly questioning whether he was at least 18. Kelvin also claims he noticed what appeared to be a concealed recording device, although no recording has been independently established.

A second man, Cory, describes an alleged encounter at the Washington Plaza Hotel, claiming he subsequently recognized Graham during a television appearance.

The third interviewee, Jesse, alleges he met Graham at Washington’s Beacon Hotel while working as an escort.

All three accounts remain allegations, and the documentary’s release does not establish criminal wrongdoing.

Graham’s Opposition to LGBTQ Rights Returns to the Spotlight

For decades, Graham faced persistent speculation about his sexual orientation, which he publicly denied.

Meanwhile, his legislative record placed him in opposition to several major LGBTQ equality initiatives, including the Equality Act and federal protections for same-sex marriage.

The documentary examines the potential contradiction between the private behavior alleged by the interviewees and Graham’s public opposition to LGBTQ civil rights legislation.

However, allegations of same-sex encounters do not establish an individual’s sexual orientation.

Documentary Released Amid South Carolina Senate Campaign

Graham died on July 11, 2026, at age 71. His sister, Darline Graham, was subsequently appointed to serve the remainder of his Senate term.

The documentary arrives as Darline Graham campaigns for the South Carolina Senate seat against Democratic challenger Dr. Annie Andrews.

According to Mediaite, the filmmakers approached Darline Graham about the allegations involving her brother. She declined to address the questions.

The outlet also reported that a Graham family representative had not immediately responded to its request for comment.

Editor’s Note: The film contains allegations of sexual misconduct, including an account involving a person who says he was a minor. These allegations have not been independently verified by JRL CHARTS.

Questions of Accountability and Political Power

While Graham’s private life had been the subject of speculation for years, the new documentary raises separate questions concerning alleged paid encounters and possible misconduct involving a minor.

Consensual relationships between adults are not inherently wrongdoing. Allegations involving minors or exploitation require distinct scrutiny and supporting evidence.

The release also renews discussion of Graham’s documented political positions on LGBTQ equality and the broader question of accountability among elected officials.
