Romantix Hit in $3K Memphis Burglary

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — (September 18, 2026) — Memphis police are searching for two suspects accused of smashing their way into a Romantix adult retail store and stealing approximately $3,000 worth of merchandise, adding another incident to a series of burglaries involving adult retailers documented during 2026.

The burglary occurred at approximately 12:53 a.m. on September 11 at the Romantix store located at 2214 Brooks Road, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Investigators said two men gained entry by breaking the glass in the store’s front door with a red bolt cutter before entering the business and taking merchandise valued at approximately $3,000.

Police described the first suspect as wearing a black hoodie with “Amiri” in white lettering, black pants and black shoes.

The second suspect was described as having a thin build and wearing a black shirt, black shorts and white shoes.

Investigators believe the suspects fled in a dark-colored SUV or crossover.

Romantix Stores Have Faced Multiple Burglary Incidents in 2026

The Memphis burglary adds to multiple reported break-ins involving Romantix locations during 2026, making security incidents involving the adult retail chain an ongoing story for the specialty retail industry.

Earlier this year, a Romantix location in Lincoln, Nebraska, was burglarized after an individual reportedly broke through a glass entrance and stole merchandise.

Less than a month later, the same Lincoln Romantix store was burglarized again. Local police said a man dressed in black broke a window, entered the business and stole several items. Investigators were examining whether the two Lincoln burglaries were connected.

With the September incident in Memphis, at least three reported burglaries involving Romantix locations in 2026 can now be identified between the Memphis and Lincoln cases.

For adult retailers, repeated break-ins can create costs extending well beyond stolen inventory, including damaged storefronts, emergency repairs, insurance claims, additional security expenses and potential disruptions to normal business operations.
