LAS VEGAS — (July 26, 2025) — Paramount+ has just launched the official trailer for Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, the next bold step in the ever-expanding Star Trek Universe. Set in the 32nd century, this sci-fi drama follows the journey of a new class of cadets as they train to become the future of Starfleet.

The series marks the 12th installment in the Star Trek franchise and serves as a spiritual continuation of Star Trek: Discovery, taking place in a time of technological wonder, political tension, and emotional reckoning.
New Faces, Familiar Legends
Starfleet Academy introduces a fresh roster of young cadets — played by Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard, and Zoë Steiner — as they form friendships, fall in love, and face rivalries that could shape the fate of the Federation.
The cast also features Holly Hunter as the Academy’s captain and chancellor, alongside the return of Tig Notaro (Jett Reno) and Robert Picardo (The Doctor). Fan-favorite characters Admiral Vance (Oded Fehr) and Sylvia Tilly (Mary Wiseman) also reprise their roles — with Paul Giamatti and Gina Yashere joining as recurring guest stars.

A New Generation Begins in 2026
Created by Gaia Violo, with Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau as showrunners, Starfleet Academy explores the heart of Star Trek’s legacy: unity, discovery, and the unknown. The story follows the first new class of cadets in over a century, training to become officers amidst personal trials and an emerging threat to both the Academy and the Federation.
The series is produced by Secret Hideout, Roddenberry Entertainment, and CBS Studios, and is scheduled to premiere early 2026, exclusively on Paramount+.
