SAN FRANCISCO, CA — (03-21-25) — Major sponsors such as Comcast, Guinness and Smirnoff, Anheuser-Bush and more have pulled out of the 2025 San Francisco PRIDE event. These sponsors are saying the reason for pulling their sponsorship dollars was due to the Trump administration’s constant anti-DEI campaign. (Basically code word for women, minorities and the LGBTQ Americans).
The 55th annual Pride Celebration organizers have budgeted $3.2 million for this year’s two-day event. There are plans for corporate sponsorships to cover some $2.3 million of the budget, executive director of San Francisco Pride Suzanne Ford told SFGATE news outlet.

According to Ford, five sponsors have cited a lack of funds for this year’s event and have pulled out, resulting in the loss of $300,000 in corporate funding, Ford told the television channel KTVU Fox in an interview last week.
“I’m very concerned. Obviously, there’s pressure from the federal government,” she told KTVU Fox. Trump’s anti-DEI policy has played a role in the sponsors leaving,” said Ford.
According to Forbes which is a conservative media outlet, a number of pride events including in New York, Houston and Washington, have reported that some of their corporate sponsors have either withdrawn or scaled back their support for their events.
“The current political and economic climate has had a significant impact on sponsorship levels from corporations,” Houston Pride’s board of directors told Forbes.
Since his return to power in Washington, Donald Trump has slashed contracts and grants related to DEI policies, claiming they are both wasteful and discriminatory.
