SANTA FE, N.M. — (09-03-24) — The Log Cabin Republicans, America’s only national LGBT Republican organization, announced on Tuesday that they are working with openly gay state Rep. John Block, R-Alamaogordo, to open the first chapter of the conservative LGBT group in the state.
While the Log Cabin Republicans are grasping for straws with this move, it will be interesting to see what comes about their new chapter in the “Land of Enchantment” state.
Currently the Log Cabin Republicans have chapters in 21 states, and they are ready to make that number expand to 22. While it is common knowledge that LGBT voters overwhelmingly vote Democratic, with the never ending war on the LGBT community by the Republican party nationwide, it will be interesting to see how well they do in New Mexico.
