BEVERLY HILLS, CA — (07-13-24) — Legendary fitness guru Richard Simmons died at his home on Saturday at the age of 76. The flamboyant fitness late night pay commercial sensation became a household name throughout the 1990s.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to his home after a 911 call from his housekeeper who told authorities that she found Simmons dead, according to police sources. Simmons made gyms a safe place for people over weight and continued to inspire many with weight-loss stories.
Preliminary results of the scene state that Simmons appears to have died of natural causes, and that no foul play is suspected at this time.
