COLORADO SPRINGS, CO — (05-31-24) — Police arrested a former employee of a popular adult store last Tuesday after he allegedly pepper sprayed an employee before robbing the business. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), officers responded to the the First Amendment Adult Bookstore located on Fillmore Street, who reported a robbery taking place around 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21.
CSPD said officers were informed that a man had walked into the adult store and used bear-strength pepper spray on the employee before stealing money from the cash register. Detectives with the Robbery division learned through their follow-up investigation that the suspect, 41-year-old Richard Adams, was a former employee of the First Amendment Adult Store.
Detectives captured Richard Adams on Thursday, May 30 on 8th Street north of Motor City.
