LAS VEGAS — (11-12-22) — Democrats will retain control of the U.S. Senate next year after Democratic U.S. Senator Catherine Cortez Masto won re-election in Nevada, handing a major victory to President Joe Biden.
Republicans are beginning to worry if they will be able to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives as officials continued counting ballots cast in Tuesday’s U.S. midterm elections. Currently the number is 204 (D) vs 211 (R).
Senator Cortez Masto defeated Republican challenger Adam Laxalt by more than 50,000 votes. Laxalt was the former state attorney general of Nevada who was endorsed by former President Donald Trump.
