HARRISBURG, PA — (10-16-22) — The LGBTQ Center of Central PA celebrated its 16th Anniversary on Saturday, honoring its founders and support staff who have been doing work to support those in the LGBTQ community. The event took place at the Hershey Lodge, located at 325 University Dr in Hershey (Map It).
The LGBTQ Center of Central PA celebrated with supporters and members with live entertainment and awards that were given out to honor the group’s founders as well as those doing a lot of work in the LGBT community.
Organizers of the LGBTQ Center of Central PA event say things have come a long way over the past 16 years.
“It’s really incredible to reflect back and I think our communities have increased in visibility over the last sixteen years and there are a lot more public representation of LGBTQ people.” said LGBTQ Center of Central PA’s Amanda Arbour.
Arbour and the entire staff of the center are hoping to draw attention to how those in the LGBTQ community are continuing to be targeted through discrimination, and ways to support those who are facing it in our community.
