Kevin Williams Dead at 60 – Gay Film Star Remembered

SAN DIEGO, CA — (September 24, 2026) — Kevin Williams, a familiar face from a defining era of gay adult film whose career included work for Catalina Video and Falcon Studios, has died at the age of 60.

Williams, whose real name was Ted Currall, died Sept. 22 in San Diego, where he had lived for years, according to a report published by Boy Culture citing information from friends.

A cause of death has not been publicly confirmed.

Williams leaves behind a screen legacy stretching back to the mid-1980s and encompassing some of the best-known gay adult studios of the period.

According to the Internet Adult Film Database, Williams was born Nov. 5, 1965, and began his career around age 20. IAFD lists his primary active years as 1985 through 2002 and maintains 30 performer credits under his professional name, including later compilation and archival releases.

Kevin Williams Became a Familiar Face at Catalina Video

Williams emerged during a period when gay adult films were making the transition from an underground business into a more established home-video industry.

One of his earliest recorded appearances was in Catalina Video’s Switch Is On in 1985.

Additional Catalina credits followed, including Hot Rods: Young and Hung 2 in 1986, Big Guns 1 in 1987, Bad Boys Club in 1988 and Catalina Blonds in 1992.

His work wasn’t limited to Catalina. Williams also appeared in Bare Tales for Tyger Films in 1987 and Stryker Force in 1986.

By 1990, his presence within Catalina’s catalog was substantial enough for the company to release Best of Kevin Williams, a performer-focused collection highlighting his earlier work.

That release remains a particularly telling marker of the recognition Williams had achieved during the first part of his career.

A Career That Extended Into the Falcon Studios Era

Williams also developed a substantial association with Falcon Studios.

His Falcon credits included In Your Wildest Dreams and Out of Bounds in 1988, followed years later by Betrayed in 1998.

Williams continued appearing in Falcon productions around the turn of the millennium, with credits including FULLfilled and Poolside Sex in 2000 and Hot Wired in 2002.

His career therefore crossed two distinct periods in gay adult entertainment — beginning during the VHS-driven expansion of the 1980s and continuing into an industry increasingly transformed by DVDs and the emerging internet era.

Later compilation and archival releases kept Williams’ work circulating well beyond his primary performing years.

IAFD’s record includes subsequent appearances of earlier material in collections connected to both Falcon Studios and Catalina, demonstrating the continued presence of his work in the studios’ catalogs.

For longtime viewers, Williams belonged to a generation of performers whose careers unfolded during a dramatically different period for both the gay community and adult entertainment.

The mid-1980s were simultaneously years of tremendous growth in gay home entertainment and some of the darkest years of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Performers working during that period became familiar faces to audiences at a time when openly gay representation remained scarce throughout mainstream film and television.

Williams ultimately spent nearly two decades associated with the industry, leaving behind credits stretching from his earliest Catalina appearances in 1985 through his final active period in the early 2000s.

News of his death brings renewed attention to that body of work and to another familiar name from an increasingly distant chapter of gay adult film history.
