LAS VEGAS — (March 10, 2026) — Netflix has officially set the premiere date for its highly anticipated action drama “Man On Fire,” starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the iconic role of John Creasy. The streaming giant also released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming series, which is scheduled to debut globally on April 30.

The new series is inspired by the bestselling novels written by A. J. Quinnell, specifically Man on Fire and The Perfect Kill, the first two installments in Quinnell’s five-book thriller saga.

In the Netflix adaptation, Abdul-Mateen II portrays John Creasy, a once-elite Special Forces mercenary known for surviving some of the world’s most dangerous missions. After years of combat and trauma, Creasy struggles with severe PTSD while attempting to rebuild his life and confront the ghosts of his past. However, when circumstances pull him back into the line of fire, Creasy must once again rely on his lethal skills to survive.

The ensemble cast includes Bobby Cannavale, Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, Paul Ben-Victor, and rising star Billie Boullet.

Netflix’s new adaptation builds on the legacy of the original story, which was previously brought to the big screen in 2004 with Denzel Washington starring as Creasy, as well as an earlier 1987 Italian film adaptation.

The series is written and executive produced by Kyle Killen, who also serves as showrunner. Production is led by New Regency Productions alongside Chernin Entertainment.

Director Steven Caple Jr., known for his work on Creed II and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, will helm the first two episodes while also serving as an executive producer.

With its intense storyline, high-stakes action, and a powerful lead performance from Abdul-Mateen II, Netflix’s Man On Fire aims to bring a modern television adaptation of Quinnell’s gripping revenge thriller to a new generation of viewers.

The series premieres April 30 exclusively on Netflix.
