Directed by Oliver Jennings and filmed along the dramatic coastline of Dungeness, England, the “Excuses for Love” video captures the emotional core of Hyperlove, exploring vulnerability, self-reflection, and human connection through MIKA’s signature theatrical style and expressive performance.

The cinematic visual mirrors the song’s message of emotional openness in a world that often rewards restraint. Against windswept landscapes and minimalist backdrops, MIKA delivers a heartfelt portrayal of love, resilience, and personal truth.

Hyperlove marks MIKA’s first English-language studio album since 2019 and represents a return to piano-driven songwriting and analogue production. The project blends vintage textures with modern pop sensibilities, reaffirming music’s ability to uplift and unite audiences worldwide.

The album has already made a strong impact on the UK charts, returning MIKA to the Top 15 while earning critical praise. Publications including Daily Star and Attitude awarded the project four out of five stars, highlighting its emotional honesty and bold artistic direction.
