Next Door Films is set to debut its new futuristic comedy feature Almost Real on ASGmax, blending sci-fi storytelling, romance, and adult humor in one of the studio’s most ambitious productions to date.

LAS VEGAS, NV — (February 2, 2026) — Next Door Films has officially announced the debut of its new futuristic comedy feature Almost Real, marking the studio’s first full-length project since its acclaimed 2024 release Breaking Frontiers.

The new production blends science fiction, romance, and adult comedy, delivering a playful and heartfelt story centered around love, technology, and human connection. Written and directed by Jeremy Babcock, Almost Real explores what happens when romance collides with artificial intelligence in a not-so-distant future.

A Futuristic Love Story with Heart

In Almost Real, Nico Coopa finds himself trapped in a dead-end relationship with Trevor Harris. His life takes an unexpected turn when his eccentric “mad scientist” friend, Derek Kage, gifts him a prototype sex robot named Ryder Owens.

What follows is a whirlwind of chaos, comedy, and self-discovery. Roommate Vincent Grey joins the adventure, while Grant Ducati eventually enters the story as Nico’s human love interest. Together, the cast delivers a fun, energetic tale focused on love, experimentation, and emotional connection.

According to the official synopsis, the project is “a story of love, connection, and sexual exploration in a future where companionship is no longer limited to traditional relationships.”

Director Jeremy Babcock on the Project

Director Jeremy Babcock says the film pays tribute to classic 1980s-era comedies that balanced outrageous concepts with genuine emotional depth.

“This project is my tribute to ’80s-era movies with an insane premise but a lot of heart,” Babcock explained. “I wanted to take a lighthearted look at a not-too-distant future where companionship becomes a choice between technology and real human connection.”

He also praised the cast for their performances both on and off camera.

“This project brings together some of the best talent we have on ASGmax,” Babcock added. “Not only did these guys bring their sexual A-game, but they absolutely nailed the comedy and emotional side of the story. This was easily the most fun I’ve ever had on a shoot.”

Premiere Schedule and Release Plan

The first installment of Almost Real, titled “In the Name of Science,” premieres on February 14, Valentine’s Day, giving fans a timely mix of romance and futuristic fantasy.

Three additional installments will follow in the coming weeks, allowing viewers to experience the full story arc as it unfolds.

The multi-part format reflects Next Door Films’ commitment to storytelling-driven adult entertainment, combining cinematic production values with serialized character development.
