LAS VEGAS — ( January 15, 2026) —  Pornhub’s parent company Aylo is now facing three separate federal class-action lawsuits following a massive data breach that exposed highly sensitive user behavior tied to Pornhub Premium accounts — igniting one of the most serious privacy crises in adult-industry history.

The lawsuits, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, accuse Aylo of allowing deeply personal user data — including pornography viewing habits, interaction patterns, and account-level behavioral tracking — to be exposed through a compromised third-party analytics vendor.

The cases were filed by plaintiffs listed as Jane and John Does, representing users in California, Mississippi, and Nevada, and seek damages for invasion of privacy, negligence, breach of implied contract, unjust enrichment, and violations of consumer protection laws.

“An individual’s sexual desires constitute some of the most sensitive and personal information there is,” attorneys for one plaintiff wrote in court filings. “Despite its prevalence, pornography consumption remains deeply private — making this breach uniquely damaging.”

Hackers, Extortion, and the ShinyHunters Group

The breach occurred in late 2025 and was attributed to the notorious cybercrime group ShinyHunters, a global extortion operation known for breaching enterprise analytics platforms and monetizing stolen consumer data.

ShinyHunters publicly told Reuters that it was holding Pornhub user data for ransom, demanding Bitcoin payments in exchange for not releasing or selling the stolen information.

“The payment will prevent the publication of Pornhub data and delete the data,” the group said.

Pornhub Blames Third-Party Vendor Mixpanel

Pornhub issued a breach notice on December 18, confirming that the exposure did not originate from Pornhub’s own servers — but rather from its data-analytics provider, Mixpanel.

Mixpanel is an AI-powered behavioral analytics platform used by Pornhub to track Premium user interactions, including session activity, engagement patterns, and platform behavior.

Pornhub acknowledged:

“A recent cybersecurity incident involving data from a third-party analytics provider has impacted some Pornhub Premium users. Passwords and financial information were not exposed.”

However, the lawsuits argue that behavioral and sexual preference data is just as dangerous — especially when tied to identifiable accounts.

Why Aylo Is in the Crosshairs

Although Mixpanel was the point of failure, none of the lawsuits name the vendor. Instead, they target Aylo’s U.S. subsidiaries, part of the multinational conglomerate owned by Ethical Capital Partners.

Legal experts say this reflects a growing trend: platform owners are being held responsible for how vendors handle consumer data — especially in regulated and high-sensitivity industries like adult entertainment.

Mixpanel confirmed it was breached in November 2025, and acknowledged that other clients — including OpenAI, SoundCloud, and 700Credit — were also affected.

“We proactively communicated with all impacted customers,” Mixpanel said. “We continue to prioritize security as a core tenet of our company.”

Aylo has declined to comment due to ongoing litigation.

Why This Case Is a Big Deal for the Adult Industry

This is not just a Pornhub problem.

This case puts every adult platform, studio, and tech provider on notice:
User privacy is now a federal-level liability risk.

Behavioral tracking, viewing habits, and identity-linked usage data — once treated as internal analytics — are now being defined by courts as protected personal information.

For gay adult platforms, subscription sites, cam networks, and studio-run fan portals, this case could reshape how data is collected, stored, and monetized across the industry.
