Adam & Eve Adult Store Theft Attempt Ends in Arrest

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — (December 17, 2025) — A man was taken into custody last week after allegedly attempting to steal merchandise from an Adam & Eve adult retail store in North Myrtle Beach, according to local authorities.

Booking records identify the suspect as Travis Hank Priest, 37, of Supply, North Carolina. Priest was charged with attempted robbery (strong arm) following the incident.

According to an incident report, the attempted theft occurred on or about December 12, when Priest entered the Adam & Eve store and began collecting various items while walking around the sales floor. Store staff initially believed he intended to purchase the merchandise.

A store employee reportedly offered to hold the items at the front counter, a common retail practice. At that point, the situation escalated, prompting staff to contact law enforcement.

Priest was arrested without further incident and transported to the J. Reuben Long Detention Center, where he was booked on the attempted robbery charge. No injuries were reported, and store employees were not harmed.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding a court date or whether further charges may be filed.
