Glen Powell Hunts His Family for $28B in A24’s ‘How to Make a Killing’ Trailer

LAS VEGAS, NV — (November 26, 2025) — A24 has dropped the official trailer for its outrageous new dark comedy thriller How to Make a Killing, starring Glen Powell as Becket Redfellow — a down-on-his-luck New Yorker who discovers he’s heir to a staggering $28 billion fortune.

There’s just one catch: seven “rich pricks,” otherwise known as his family, stand between him and the inheritance. So Becket decides to “prune a few branches off the family tree” in a stylishly unhinged murder spree that blends action, satire, and pure A24 chaos.

The trailer shows Powell firing shotguns, dodging bullets, disposing of relatives in increasingly insane ways (including an anchor-at-sea moment straight out of a comic-book fever dream), and teaming up with co-star Jessica Henwick (Glass Onion). Also starring are Margaret Qualley (The Substance) and Topher Grace (That ’70s Show), adding even more comedic edge to the lethal fun.

The film is written and directed by John Patton Ford, the Independent Spirit Award winner behind Emily the Criminal, and is loosely inspired by the 1949 classic Kind Hearts and Coronets.

How to Make a Killing is produced by StudioCanal and BluePrint Pictures, with A24 distributing in the U.S.

After a huge year that included Edgar Wright’s The Running Man, Powell looks primed for another hit — and this one might be his funniest (and bloodiest) yet.
