LAS VEGAS — (October 7, 2025) — Aylo, the parent company of Pornhub, has announced a new global policy requiring criminal background checks for all creators and studios participating in the platform’s content partner program.
The announcement, sent via Pornhub’s quarterly newsletter on Tuesday, outlines a major new step in the company’s ongoing effort to strengthen trust, safety, and accountability for both creators and users.

Strengthening Platform Integrity
According to the email, all new content partner applicants will be required to undergo a background check as part of the onboarding process. Existing content partners will need to complete the process in 2026, ensuring the measure applies universally across the network.
“To further protect our creators and users, all new applicants must now complete a criminal background check during onboarding,” the company stated. “Existing content partners (like you) will need to do this in 2026. This measure helps prevent individuals with criminal histories from joining our platform and supports a safer, more trustworthy environment.”
The notice emphasized that the checks will be conducted at no cost to creators, and that participants will receive detailed instructions directly from the company.
“These steps are essential to maintaining the integrity and safety of our platform,” Pornhub added. “Thank you for your cooperation in keeping Pornhub a safe and inclusive community.”
Industry Implications
The move marks a significant shift in policy for one of the world’s largest adult entertainment platforms — a change likely to ripple across competing networks and performer platforms. By linking account verification with formal background checks, Aylo is signaling an aggressive push toward compliance, safety, and mainstream credibility.
Industry analysts say the measure could set a new benchmark for ethical standards in adult content monetization and platform oversight, particularly as regulatory scrutiny and advertiser expectations continue to evolve.
