LAS VEGAS — (September 7, 2025) — Netflix has dropped the official teaser for BOOTS, a bold LGBT comedy-drama series that dives headfirst into life inside the U.S. Marine Corps during the turbulent 1990s. With sharp wit, dark humor, and heart to spare, the series blends coming-of-age chaos with military grit — a combo set to shake up queer storytelling when it premieres October 9.
Starring Miles Heizer (13 Reasons Why), Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring), and Kieron Moore (Masters of the Air), BOOTS follows closeted teen Cameron Cope (Heizer) and his best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh), the son of a decorated Marine. Determined to find their way, the pair enlist and are thrown into a boot camp full of literal and metaphorical landmines. What unfolds is a story about friendship, resilience, and discovering your true self in a world determined to box you in — or leave you behind.
Created by Andy Parker, the one-hour comedic drama is backed by powerhouse producers including the legendary Norman Lear. The series’ production roster also features Jonathan Caren and Andrea Ciannavei (co-executive producers), Nick Jones Jr. (co-producer), Andy Parker (showrunner and executive producer), Ky Reeves (associate producer), and Jim Sodini (producer).
Behind the camera, BOOTS boasts a stacked creative team with cinematographers Bruce Francis Cole and Pedro Gómez Millán, editor Chris A. Peterson, and composer Jongnic Bontemps. Visual effects are delivered by Ingenuity Studios, ensuring the series balances raw grit with cinematic polish.
Synopsis
“Bullied gay teen Cameron joins the Marine Corps with his best friend despite the risks. At boot camp, they experience profound personal change amid danger, as their platoon confronts both literal and figurative landmines.”
