SULLIVAN COUNTY, TN — (August 9, 2025) — A high-profile sting operation has rattled the Kingsport adult retail scene after two employees of the Romantic Escapades Adult Superstore were cited in connection with an alleged prostitution operation inside the store’s private theatre area.

The SCSO had allegedly received multiple complaints about prostitution and sexual activity occurring inside the adult store, located at 5358 Fort Henry Drive (Map It).
According to the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO), detectives launched a probe following numerous complaints from residents alleging that sexual acts — and in some cases, prostitution — were taking place during business hours inside the store’s theatre rooms.
The SCSO confirmed that several tips also claimed patrons had been exposed to sexually transmitted infections within the premises.
Investigators say undercover surveillance and witness interviews backed up the complaints, revealing that customers were allegedly paying a fee to access closed-off sections of the business that contained five single-person viewing booths and three larger group theatre rooms equipped with couches, chairs, and large screens.
The SCSO reports that on July 7, 2025, two employees were formally cited for prohibited activities and could face further legal consequences as the investigation continues. The citations issued were a Class B misdemeanor under Tennessee law.
The Romantic Escapades Adult Superstore has not issued a public statement regarding the citations at press time.
