LAS VEGAS, NV— (June 30, 2025) — In a breaking development that impacts gay porn studios, platforms, and content creators nationwide, the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) has issued an urgent statement ahead of new age verification laws set to take effect tomorrow in South Dakota, Georgia, and Wyoming.
These laws, which open the door to lawsuits against websites hosting explicit content, have sent a wave of concern across the gay porn news landscape.

Official FSC Statement
“Following the Supreme Court ruling in Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton on Friday, website operators should be vigilant about the potential risk for litigation in these and other states that have enacted age-verification mandates,” said Alison Boden, Executive Director of Free Speech Coalition.
“We are working with our legal team to understand the current legal landscape and determine what recourse may exist.”
The Free Speech Coalition has published the following breakdown:
-
Georgia: Establishes a private right of action for civil lawsuits against websites that feature 33⅓% or more material deemed “harmful to minors.”
-
Wyoming: Also introduces a private right of action, though it appears to only apply to obscene content or CSAM (which is already illegal). Still, FSC warns this language could lead to confusion or improper enforcement.
-
South Dakota: Takes a more aggressive stance, allowing lawsuits against any site with any amount of material deemed harmful to minors — abandoning the 33⅓% standard entirely. Enforcement lies with the South Dakota Attorney General.
Industry Call to Action
The FSC is urging all adult entertainment operators — including gay porn networks, billing platforms, and streaming services — to closely review the FSC Age Verification FAQ and assess any potential exposure to legal risk.
To support studios and publishers during this transitional period, FSC will also host a live town hall on Tuesday, July 1, to provide clarity on the Paxton ruling, evolving legislation, and potential industry responses. Click here to register
