Set in the Pacific, 1942 — a Japanese soldier and a British POW are stranded on a remote island after their ship is torpedoed by Allied submarines. As the two mortal enemies confront each other, they soon realize a much deadlier threat is lurking: a mythological predator known as the Orang Ikan, inspired by Southeast Asian folklore and classic monster films.

Wiluan, known for producing Crazy Rich Asians and The Night Comes for Us, directs the creature thriller with a nod to the iconic Creature from the Black Lagoon. Monster Island (also known by its original title Orang Ikan) is a multinational co-production between Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, and the UK.

The film is set to premiere July 25, 2025, on SHUDDER in North America, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
