LAS VEGAS, NV — (June 20, 2025) — The highly anticipated queer thriller Ponyboi, co-written and starring River Gallo, has officially secured its nationwide release date via FOX Entertainment Studios. The neo-noir film, which made waves at the Sundance Film Festival, hits U.S. theaters on June 27, 2025.

Directed by Esteban Arango, Ponyboi brings to life the raw, emotional story of a young intersex sex worker caught in a violent spiral after a drug deal goes wrong — all set against the gritty backdrop of Valentine’s Day in New Jersey.

Official Synopsis:

On Valentine’s Day, a young intersex sex worker works at a laundromat with his pregnant best friend, Angel. He spends his nights with Vinnie, his secret lover and pimp — who is also the father of Angel’s unborn child. But when a drug deal goes south, Ponyboi is forced to flee the mob and fight for his freedom.
