LAS VEGAS, NV — (June 15, 2025) — Peccadillo Pictures has officially set the On Demand release date for Hidden Master: The Legacy of George Platt Lynes, the powerful LGBTQ+ documentary that uncovers the life and influence of one of America’s first openly gay artists.
George Platt Lynes gained early recognition for his stunning fashion and celebrity portraits, but his most groundbreaking—and long-suppressed—work centered on the male nude. Now, filmmaker Sam Shahid brings his full legacy into focus with a documentary that finally gives Lynes the spotlight he was denied for decades.
“This is the story of a man whose art was ahead of his time. His lens captured more than beauty—it captured truth,” said director Shahid.
The film takes a raw, intimate look at the photographer’s radical erotic work, which was hidden for years due to its queer themes and explicit content. Featuring interviews with cultural icons Vince Aletti, Don Bachardy, and Vincent Cianni, Hidden Master boldly positions Lynes as a foundational figure in LGBTQ+ visual history.
The documentary will premiere On Demand in the UK on July 11, 2025, distributed by Peccadillo Pictures. U.S. distribution is being handled by Greenwich Entertainment.
