WASHINGTON, D.C. — (04-25-25) — LGBTQ+ Pride organizers and performers are trying to find new venues after the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts abruptly canceled all PRIDE Month Events. A week’s worth of events that were scheduled to celebrate LGBTQ+ rights during this summer’s World Pride festival in Washington, D.C.
The decision follows a sweeping leadership overhaul made by president Trump at one of America’s premier cultural institutions. Trump has ignited a firestorm across the LGBTQ+ community over his homophobic actions.

JRL CHARTS LGBT Politics reached out to the Kennedy Center via email on Friday for comment but did not receive a response.
The center’s “Tapestry of Pride” programming that was set for June 5–8, were either quietly canceled or moved to another location. Thanks to the Trump regime’s homophobic moves at the last minute, the Washington’s Capital Pride Alliance has officially severed its ties with the Kennedy Center.
