WASHINGTON, D.C — (02-06-25) — President Donald Trump shocks the American people again by ordering the federal government end all paid news subscriptions for employees and agency offices across the executive branch.
According to an email obtained by Axios, the Trump regime told the General Services Administration to terminate “every single media contract” paid for by the federal government that falls under the jurisdiction of the executive branch.
The Trump regime official wrote in an email to federal employees: “Pull all contracts for Politico, BBC, E&E (Politico subscription service) and Bloomberg. Pull all media contracts for just GSA – cancel every single media contract today for GSA only.”

For Americans who don’t know, the GSA is responsible for the federal government’s services relating to procurement, real estate and technology. The recent “order” issued by Donald Trump comes days after Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency lied about a claim that Politico was receiving millions of dollars in federal subsidies.
The payments turned out to be years of payments to Politico Pro, a service that tracks legislation on Capitol Hill.
Naturally the GOP Media machine were quick to take to the web to falsly claim that the Biden administration funded anti-Trump media when in reality the payments to the news service were publicly disclosed and, a long-term practice, including by both Democrat and Republican members of Congress.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in today’s press briefing, the federal government would not spend money on Politico services any more.
“Politico is a privately owned company. We have never received any government funding — no subsidies, no grants, no handouts. Not one dime, ever, in 18 years,” wrote Politico’s CEO Goli Sheikholeslami and Politico Global Editor-In-Chief John Harris in response to the outrage. “Politico Pro is different. It is a professional subscription service used by companies, organizations, and, yes, some government agencies.”
What will be the next liberty of America to be cancelled by President Trump? That’s the real question and concern.
