WASHINGTON, D.C — (02-04-25) — The U. S. Postal Service announced on Tuesday that it has stopped accepting international packages from China and Hong Kong until further notice. Will this be detrimental to the pleasure products industry? With many pleasure product brands dependent on their partnerships with manufacturers in Hong Kong and China, how will this impact the adult industry in regards to fulfillment of pre-orders, back orders and most of all, special orders for distribution, retailers and adult consumer. That’s the real question!

The USPS Posted the following statement on their website:

“Effective Feb. 4, the Postal Service will temporarily suspend only international package acceptance of inbound parcels from China and Hong Kong Posts until further notice. Note the flow of letters and flats from China and Hong Kong will not be impacted.”

Sources inside the White House say this action taken by Trump and the USPS could be in retaliation for the counter-tariffs China’s government placed on American goods earlier Tuesday, in response to the 10% tariffs Trump placed on Chinese products last Saturday.

According to the USPS, the flow of letters and flats will not be impacted but packages will be blocked until further notice.

UPDATE 7:38 A.M. (02-5-2025) – After major backlash, the U.S. Postal service resumes accepting packages from China and Hong Kong. A new 10% tariff on Chinese goods will still be implemented. Even for packages that are valued below $800.
