LOS ANGELES, CA — (01-30-25) — Grammy Award-Winner Will Smith is back with his new ‘Beautiful Scars’ music video, his new track that features Big Sean and OBanga. The Matrix theme music video along with a “Matrix”-inspired music video. Will Smith not only drops a ‘Matrix Themed” video, he also announced he will be dropping a new solo album, “Based on a True Story” in March.
It will mark the multi award-winner’s first full length album release in over 20 years. The album is slated for release in March.
“Beautiful Scars,” which was produced by OmArr and LeXoskeleton, explores the pains of fame that Will Smith has experienced, and learning from one’s mistakes. In the video, Smith takes on the role of Neo, the character made famous by Keanu Reeves in the 1999 sci-fi classic “The Matrix,” while Big Sean portrays the role of of Morpheus, originally portrayed by Laurence Fishburne.
Smith’s upcoming album will be released through S/LANG Entertainment, a newly formed independent distribution label led by music executive Rene McLean, who is also a partner and founding advisor at Influence Media Partners.
