LAS VEGAS, NV — (12-02-24) — Gay couples are racing to get married and have children over the fear that once president-elect Trump takes office, he will move to cancel same-sex marriage. The only problem with such bullshit is that gay couples have nothing to fear because president Biden signed into law the bipartisan ‘Respect for Marriage Act’ law back in December 2022.
However we are witnessing right wing and left wing media outlets pushing their Click Bait fear narrative that is being taken seriously by gay couples. Media outlets continue to push the “same-sex marriage has been legal in the United States since the Supreme Court’s 2015 landmark ruling, Obergefell v. Hodges, which made state bans on same-sex marriage unconstitutional” narrative while ignoring ‘The Respect for Marriage Act’.
“The Respect for Marriage Act (RFMA; H.R. 8404) is a landmark United States federal law passed by the 117th United States Congress in 2022 and signed into law by President Joe Biden. It repeals the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), requires the U.S. federal government and all U.S. states and territories (though not tribes) to recognize the validity of same-sex and interracial civil marriages in the United States, and protects religious liberty.
