WASHINGTON, D.C. — (07-01-24) — The conservative packed U.S. Supreme Court for the first time in history, ruled that ex-presidents such as Donald J. Trump, have immunity from prosecution for attempting to strong arm state officials to find imaginary votes to turn over an election, threaten state officials with prosecution if they don’t do as he says. In the court’s opinion, those acts are considered legal acts by a sitting president.

Shockwaves of this ruling are being felt across the globe. Even right wing media are being extremely careful on how they spin this decision. The court ruled 6-3 that “While former presidents enjoy immunity for actions they take within their constitutional authority, they do not for actions taken in a private capacity.”

The ruling marked the first time since the nation’s 18th century founding that the Supreme Court has declared that former presidents may be shielded from criminal charges in any instance. In other words, presidents of the US are now kings.

Note: If Trump wins in November, that means he will be able to pressure Republicans to not pass any appropriations bills when he feels he is threatened or when he doesn’t like something! He can then move to shutdown the government when the Congress is unable to pass appropriations bills that are then signed into law by the President by March 1st at 11:59pm. This is terrifying to say the least!

Chief Justice John Roberts announced the landmark ruling on behalf of the court’s six-justice conservative majority.  The court’s three liberal justices issued a scathing dissent. The decision came in Trump’s appeal of a lower court ruling rejecting his immunity claim. The court decided the case on the last day of its term.

Trump had argued that he is immune from prosecution because he was serving as president when he took the actions that led to the charges. Smith had opposed presidential immunity from prosecution based on the principle that no one is above the law.

During April 25 arguments in the case, Trump’s legal team urged the packed conservative supreme court to fully shield former presidents from criminal charges – “absolute immunity” – for official acts taken in office.

Review Scotus Ruling in TRUMP v. UNITED STATES

The court’s 6-3 conservative majority decision handed the former wannabe dictator what he wanted. Let’s not forget that Trump nominated 3 of the current conservative justices.

The ruling also puts the burden on special counsel Jack Smith’s election subversion charges that include one of the four criminal cases Trump is facing. Trump, 78, is the first former U.S. president to be criminally prosecuted as well as the first former president convicted of a crime.

In the special counsel’s August 2023 indictment, Trump was charged with conspiring to defraud the United States, corruptly obstructing an official proceeding and conspiring to do so, and conspiring against the right of Americans to vote. He has pleaded not guilty.

Say goodbye to the US Constitution, has this conservative packed court has destroyed what the founding fathers had created.
