NEW YORK, NY — (06-10-24) — LGBT pop singer Chappell Roan snubbed the White House on Sunday when she announced that she turned down an invitation to perform for a White House PRIDE event.
Born Kayleigh Amstutz but known by her stage name of Chappell Roan, announced her decision to snub the White House PRIDE event at the Gov Ball Music Festival in New York City. She made the announcement during her performance of “My Kink Is Karma”, which she dedicated to the White House.
“I dedicate this song as a response to the White House, who asked me to perform for Pride,” Roan said. “We want liberty, justice and freedom for all. When you do that, that’s when I’ll come.”
The White House did not respond to JRL CHARTS LGBT Politics‘ request for comment on Chappell Roan’s decision on Monday.
