BELLEVIEW, FL — (04-18-24) — Belleview police department announced the capture of 19 year-old Alex Morales in connection with the theft of $13K worth of adult toys and vapes from the Smoky Monkey Smoke Shop located at 5912 SE Abshier Blvd. According to a Belleview police department spokesperson, Morales was captured on Wednesday night by Corporal Alex Harrington, who observed the 19 year-old who fit the description of the burglary suspect they had been looking for.
The Following is the official statement posted by the Belleview Police Department on Facebook:
“Early this morning, Corporal Alex Harrington observed an individual who fit the description of the burglary suspect we’ve been looking for. Upon making contact, Corporal Harrington noticed that the man, nineteen-year-old Alex Morales, was wearing the same pants and shoes as seen on the surveillance footage. When questioned about the burglary, Morales admitted to committing the offense.”
Alex Morales was arrested by Corporal Harrington and charged with Burglary, Grand Theft, and Criminal Mischief. Morales is currently at the Marion County Jail, where he is being held with no bond.
