LAS VEGAS — (01-14-24) — A record number of anti-LGBT bills were introduced and passed in 2023, setting a record with over 510 anti-LGBT bills in state legislatures across the United States, according to American Civil Liberties Union data as of December 21, 2023.
According to those numbers, that’s an astounding three-times the number of anti-LGBT bills introduced since 2022. Education and health care-related bills, in particular, were the main targets of the GOP’ war on the LGBT Community in the USA.
Mainly targeting the transgender community with a renewed push to ban access to gender-affirming health care for transgender youth. Not to mention there campaign on regulating curriculum in public schools, including discussions around gender identity and sexuality. Something that hasn’t been seen since the Salem Witch days.
