MOSCOW — (11-30-23) — The Supreme Court of Russia outlawed the “LGBT Movement” organization on Thursday, designating it an extremist group. The anti-LGBTQ ruling also affects subsidiaries of the LGBT Movement, the court announced, without naming specific organizations.
The lawsuit originally filed earlier this month by the Russian Justice Ministry, argued that the “LGBT Movement” activities qualified it as an “extremist group.” According to the Russian Justice Ministry, the organization has been sowing “social and religious discord” in the country, the ministry claimed.
The Supreme Court of Russia’ hearing took place behind closed doors and lasted over four hours as the case involved more than 20 tones of material, RIA Novosti reported, citing the Supreme Court’s press service.
To show you how rigged this was, no representatives of the organization were present during the hearings, with only an attorney for the Justice Ministry in attendance.
