WASATCH, UT — (01-03-23) — American motorsports star and prominent YouTuber and LGBTQ Supporter Ken Block, was killed on Tuesday in a snowmobile accident at the age of 55.
A competitive rally driver, Block grew to prominence online for the “Gymkhana” YouTube video series, where he filmed himself taking part in daring motorsport feats. His stunts earned him over two million subscribers.
According to reports from local law enforcement, Ken Block died in Wasatch County, Utah while driving a snowmobile up a steep slope. the snowmobile upended and crashed down on top of him, killing him instantly.
He was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
The Wasatch County sheriff’s office said Block had been driving as part of a group but had become separated from the others at the time of the crash.
He is survived by his wife Lucy Block.
