TBILISI, GA — (07-05-21) — Anti-LGBT protesters turned violent on July 5 against a planned LGBT Pride march in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi. The anti-LGBT protesters attacked LGBT activists and journalists, including two RFE/RL reporters.
The insecure anti-LGBT protesters accused journalists of spreading and promoting “anti-Georgian sentiments”. They also ransacked the Tbilisi Pride March office.

Police cancelled the LGBT Pride March because of the violence. The LGBT Pride organizers accused the government and church of emboldening a “huge wave of hate” against the LGBT community in the country of Georgia.
