NEW YORK, NY — (10-04-20) — New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced today that he will close businesses and schools in nine neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens where a surge in coronavirus infections has occurred.
According to de Blasio, all indoor and outdoor dining will be closed in the nine neighborhoods, Dow Jones reported on Sunday. Churches will be allowed to stay opened with restrictions, said de Blasio.
“You don’t do this lightly — you do this when the facts demand it,” De Blasio said in a press briefing on Sunday, adding that he has sounded a number of warnings recently. “We had warned people of more restrictive measures and now, we’re imposing them.”
