ST. PETERSBURG, RU — (07-24-19) — Outrage and shock as LGBT activist Yelena Grigorieva was found dead last Saturday night. Hundreds of LGBT demonstrators marched through the city to commemorate political and LGBT rights activist Yelena Grigorieva who was brutally stabbed to death over the weekend.
LGBT Activist Yelena Girgorieva Stabbed to Death
Yelena Grigorieva was found last Saturday near her home with eight stab wounds and signs of strangulation.
Several protesters say that the 41-year-old LGBT activist had recently been receiving many death threats in connection with her LGBT civil rights activism activities.
Marina Ken, one of the demonstrators, told AP “Yelena was killed because she was not afraid to tell the truth about the subjects that are traditionally silent in Russia and on the country’s state TV channels.” said Ken.
