HOLLYWOOD, CA — (12-09-18) — James Gunn, on the heals of his firing from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 project, returns to the big screen as producer and co-writer on Brightburn, an upcoming “superman superhero horror” film.
The Brightburn horror film borrows many of the tropes from the Superman legend. Including the rural area setting, asteroid-strapped infant crash-landing in a field. Then to top it off, being adopted by farmer parents.
Synopsis:
“What if a child from another world crash-landed on Earth, but instead of becoming a hero to mankind, he proved to be something far more sinister?”

The loneliness, outcast mantra, levitation and awesome strength projections, gives the Brightburn superhero film’s material of a terrifying dark tale. The teen aged alien uses his abilities to wreak havoc and mass murder.
