Girls Trip (2017) is an upcoming romantic comedy film directed by Malcolm D. Lee. The $ 28,000,000 dollar budget film stars Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Jada Pinkett Smith, Larenz Tate and Mike Colter and produced by Will Packer.
Plot:
“The film tells the story of four lifelong friends who travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Music Festival, where sisterhoods are rekindled and wild sides are rediscovered”
In February 2014, Universal Pictures announced that director Malcolm D. Lee and producer Will Packer would be collaborating on the upcoming film titled ‘Girls Trip’ (2017) with South Park writer Erica Rivinoja attached to write the script.
In May 2016, Girls Trip (2017) set a release date of August 11, 2017 for the film however that was later changed to July 21, 2017. It was also reported that Regina Hall would star in the film and Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver were rewriting the script. Queen Latifah and Jada Pinkett Smith joined the cast in early June 2016 with Larenz Tate joining the cast later that month.
