LAS VEGAS, NV – After weeks of rumors and anticipations, we can now report that the film that has been in the works for ever, the Queen film, is back on full thrusters with X-Men powerhouse director Bryan Singer confirming he would direct Bohemian Rhapsody, with Rami Malek playing Freddie Mercury.
Singer confirmed on Friday that USA Networks’ Mr. Robot star Rami Malek, who recently won an Emmy for the role, would star in the Queen film.
According to USA Today, Malek’s publicity agent Simon Halls confirmed that they are in final status of negotiations to play the part.
The Queen script was written by legendary screenwriter Anthony McCarten. Plus, original band member drummer Roger Taylor and guitarist Brian May will take the roles of music producers on the movie. Production on Queen is set to begin in early 2017.
